[Milsurplus] BC-312 see SCR-299/399A

Got a letter a while back from a WW2 vet who was an operator in an SCR-399 in Europe.  He reported that they ran the BC-312 continuously, usually tuned to BBC and the information from that source was frequently more up to date than what was coming in on their official channels!
