Thanks, Ray, for a very interesting reply.I have, i think, three WW2 era films. One is a German film about their SW broadcaststation, circa 1939, i think. I don't know how brittle they are but i would not want totry to run them, nor have an amateur have at it. Anyway they have waited this long,a little longer won't hurt. I think i should forget trying to net anything for them andjust eventually post them to YouTube anyway. If i recall, i mentioned this subject on a group i was on, years back, i think it wasthe boatanchors.sco thing, which was a tyrannically run organization whose management style i too soon had my fill of. Someone responded with an over-eager offer to get everything done for me and i was immediately suspicious.Anyway retirement is coming up and i will finally have time to attend to this.I think one is German gun camera film - i don't know if this is a standard copyor something exceptional - other is some kind of U.S. Navy film. I think collecting16mm films a fascinating hobby, but not suited to someone like me who has been a nomad for decades. The stuff is really, really heavy besides. One fellowi know up in Tacoma, WA has a basement full of films all hanging on some kindof hanger aisles. Offered generously to loan me a 16mm film on rat eradication -he has a large number of "industrial films" - but i declined - no machine to run iton, and also would not want to risk even trying it. I see the Hammacher outfithas an 8mm to digital converter for $1800. I have about a half dozen WW28mm standard newsreel type films but i'm not going to pursue that. The onesi have are certainly not rare and anyway i don't want to get into another collecting field.-Hue >
