You're better off using things like the 6146 and the like, 6LQ6, 6JE6 and other high power sweep tubes have been out of production for so long now that they are getting harder to come by and no company in their right mind will manufacture tubes for analog designs from the late sixties. The 6146 was used for such a long time and in so many radios there are many more around today, just checking on EBay there are about ten times as many 6146 tubes for about a third of what the 6LQ6 tubes cost.

I don't have a "modern" tube manual here.
Is there a sweep tube that can take up to 1 KV on the plate?
Odd filament voltage OK but 10-12 VDC would be plus.
