Way back I built a couple of AC power supplies
for that "Freq Meter". We stole parts from "Tone
Keyers" made by Wilcox for the CS-390 Rec Racks.
When the real AC power supplies became available
the operators often left the back door open so's the
whole thing would run cooler.
Trivia, but for calibrating the crystal,l the upper part
(the oscillator), was wrapped in a heavy bath towel, and
a long handle screwdriver was included in the wrap.
Warm up took a while.
