I have received several enquiries, so I'll post this simple explanation with links.

QR codes are the similar bar codes. Most phones and iPods with a built in camera can scan a QR sticker and decode it into plain text in a few seconds. You can type whatever info you want into an online (free) site and print the QR code generated out on adhesive paper. Of course companies like Avery would like to sell you a box of blank adhesive labels, which I admit, may be more convenient.
Anybody with a camera phone or iPod with a camera can decode the information instantly.
