Can't recall the first R-390A contract date, early 50s sometime ('52
maybe?). Last one was the 1984 Fowler contract for 4 receivers. But it's my
understanding from several people I know at different agencies that they
served into the 90s.

Wonder how long the FRC-93 was active? I recall a bunch being pulled out of
mothballs and refurbed for Desert Storm due to problems with sand and
static clobbering the newer stuff. Action was likely over before many/any
saw service though.
