The Arabic alphabet is not a Latin-based alphabet. It is one of the
surviving members of the family of Semitic alphabets. You're right in that,
that it's written from right to left, just like for example Hebrew, which is
another surviving Semitic script, which has many characters similar to the
Arabic ones.

I think Arabic has an alphabet like English, but reads right to left. Have
you tried transscribing it and using Google Translate?
