[Milsurplus] OT: UPS Ground Insanity

Yes and no...  I've seen that here too, it has to do with routing and 
time/fuel/costs savings.  You cables may be the ONLY thing to deliver your 
way, so they will wait to see if they can delivery, two, three, four more 
items on that route, rather than drive out there four seperate times on four 
seperate days at four times the cost.

For example, I live about twenty miles from the post office.  Rather than 
drive there once or twice per day, at 13 MPG at $3.24 a gallon for fuel and 
expensive foo-foo coffee drinks ($$$$), I go once or twice a week.  If 
someone needs an item NOW, I can expedite the delivery, do it today, but I 
tell them up front that it will cost so many more dolalrs, just in fuel to 
do it, they usually wait a couple days.
