Hi,

WD-40 = "water displacing formula #40". I dunno what problems they had
with the first 39 attempts. It was not intended to be any kind of
lubricant nor "penetratring oil". It's good for getting iced up locks
de-iced if you don't wait too many days to wash out the WD-40 with
(alcohol). It is also good for removing gummed labels and gummy glue
residue from especially glass. In some cases it's the "right tool". For
electrical equipment it's not.
