It could have, which is why I did not often recommend CLP until I had more
than ten years to observe its effects.  Now, my items first treated have
survived more than 20 years with not a single adverse effect noted by me.
I've not had to re-apply any CLP since the original treatments.

I used CLP on my weapons, long before I found it useful on my old military
radios.
