I've owned an AN/SRR-13A for more than 42 years. It needed
a couple of tube replacements and some dial gear work when
I got it from USN-USMC MARS in 1970, plus a 5902 AF tube
replacement in 1973. Otherwise it has been trouble free.
It went with me through five different duty stations across the
US when I was on active duty more than 33 years ago without
failure. (I couldn't afford a commercial equivalent.) Like
most surplus communications items since WWII, it has suffered
from stories that hams have invented for this series of
receivers. It was the best general coverage receiver I owned
until I got a TS-430S in 1983.
