[Milsurplus] OT: Sears Tools

We do need larger mechanical tools at times to work on our radios and
other things, I don't think comparisons of which are good and which are
not to be very far off topic. My father owned and ran a garage for over
30 years, and at first used only Sears Craftsman tools because of their
warranty. He later changed to industrial millwright wrenches and
sockets. The Sears tools have a great warranty because they rarely
break, they are made to stretch and slip before the forces can build
up to destructive levels. The bolt heads, your fingers and knuckles, and
the front panels of radios are sacrificed when this happens. Many
brands of industrial tools, as well as the premier brands of auto
mechanic's tools, have comparable warranties but they do not stretch.
They will shear a bolt before they slip, and that is far better than
contemplating how to refinish a gash on the panel of a radio while you
attend to your bleeding fingers. It always pays off in success and
hobby pleasure to find and buy the best hand tools.
