[Milsurplus] Navy Manufacturer Codes

Sam,

Someone else sent you the contractor names matching the three codes.  As to 
why the Signal Corps used Navy Contractor Codes on many nameplates, I don't 
know and don't know of anyone who does.  All that I can say about it is 
that they are fairly common, when they appear it is usually as a prefix 
followed by a colon to the serial number, and that I don't think I have ever seen a 
nameplate showing both the code and the contractor's name.  Only one or the 
other.  Other common sets with the code that I've seen and that come to 
mind are BC-342, BC-611, and BC-614.
