[Milsurplus] AM stations

Many AM operations are squeaking by.  In my home town there is an AM 
station, been there since about 1950.  They have a nice brick building
that housed the entire station when it was new.  Later they acquired
an FM affiliate and chopped up the original AM studio to make two little
ones for the two stations.

Then they moved the studios to another part of town, keeping the building
only to store junk and house the AM transmitter.  The roof leaks, but
the owner has repaired only the part of it that covers where the 
transmitter sits.  And when I saw it the transmitter had a pull-out
drawer pulled out and a box fan blowing on it.
