[Milsurplus] Another odd ball question

I'm in the process of building up my BC-375 and
BC-348 in a radio operator type of installation, and
am curious about a small detail.

(It is working electrically, had it on the air this AM,
and am now working on details).

What kind of writing surface did the radio operator position have?

Looking at Mike's Enola pages, it appears to be painted wood,
but I think the Navy used some kind of linoleum or other
kind of surface.

Anyone know for sure?
