It would also be nice if nit-pickers could learn the difference between 
"their" and THEY'RE. Careful pronunciation would reveal the correct 
usage in context. (Referring to the second appearance of "their")

Further, the US Air Force came into existence on 18 September 1947, not 
some date in 1948, under the National Security Act of 1947.
