Surprisingly enough, ham radio was NOT totally banned in the Reich during
the war years. Probably it was just contact with belligerent countries
stations that was banned. Anyway the other countries DID ban ham radio,
so there was little likelihood of this happening. I think I read about this 
years
ago in "Radio Bygones" magazine, altho not certain about source. I think the
article may also have discussed ham radio contacts between Germany and
Portugal during the war. -Hue
