Hello;

Are you familiar with a low power shipboard FM transceiver that was
designed to communicate between ships or to shore across short
distances?

It is a single unit with built-in power supplies that operated on two
crystal controlled channels in the 30 to 42 MHz range.  Power output
was adjustable between 0.01 watts and 2 watts maximum.  The FM
deviation was + and - 15 KHz.  The built-in power supply would run off
115 VAC, 50-400 cycles, 13.5 VDC or 27.0 VDC.

The unit designation was MN-5 and manufactured by the Fred M. Link
Corp. in New York.  The preliminary instruction book is dated 8
November 1944.

I have a unit that appears in new condition complete with the mounting
rack, preliminary instruction book, and a box of crystals.

Was this series of equipment ever put into service?

If you or any of your acquaintances know any thing about this unit, I
would appreciate hearing about it.

Thank you,

David Cain
