This is an interesting observations since I have an essentially NOS ARC-2 on
the shelf. While I did not get it in its original crate, it has no scratches
at all or any other sort of blemish and has not been played with either. I
assumed they were relatively common. 73 - Mike

It is not very likely that you will ever find such a thing.

A few exist that somehow got kept out of use when owned by the Navy or
Coast Guard. But most RT-91/ARC-2 and RT-298/ARC-2A units had long service
life. I saw some still in use at NAS Corpus Christi in 1972. They will
definitely show signs of use...and if it's the older RT-91, it most likely
will have been field-modified to have some of the characteristics of the
RT-298, like fuses added to the front panel and the disabling the RF
ammeter.

The mounting rack and the control boxes are very scarce.

It's a visually very attractive set, even when not in NIB condition.

Good luck.
