I still remember on a visit to London in the summer of about 1956 buying a
magazine (Wireless World maybe) that had part of a series about
"converting" an indicator, maybe an H2S or GEE or something like that,
full of those beautiful red EF-50s, to a domestic TV set.
What goes around, comes around. At that time the stuff was near junk, and
TVs expensive. Now you can get a good TV for <$500; a poor condition H2S
will bring >$20,000.
Funny world.
