Have you tried Fair Radio Sales in Lima, OH? Even if it's not in
their catalog, they have many things that only a request will ferret
out. That's how I got my MT-297/GR ten years ago. See:
http://www.fairradio.com/ .

The MT-299 accommodates
RT-66 or 67 or 68, plus
PP-109 or 112,
These are part of AN/VRC-8 or 9 or 10.

No, the MT-299 does NOT accomodate a RT-70 with AM-65.
Only two mounts have a junction box with the three plugs and cables that
connect to the AM-65, located below the RT-70:
(1) MT-297, which accomodates
R-108 or 109 or 110, plus
RT-66 or 67 or 68, plus
PP-109 or 112, plus
RT-70 and AM-65, plus
C-435
These are used in AN/GRC-3 or 5 or 7.
Remove ONLY the receiver, that's AN/GRC-4 or 6 or 8.
Remove ONLY the RT-70 and the C-435, that's AN/VRC-20 or 21 or 22.
Remove the receiver AND the RT-70 and the C-435, that's AN/VRC-13 or 14 or 15.
2) MT-300, which accomodates only the AM-65 with RT-70 on top, that's AN/VRC-7.
Remove the RT-70, that's AN/UIC-1.
There is the MT-327 mount, which accomodates
R-108 or 109 or 110, plus
RT-66 or 67 or 68, plus
PP-109 or 112
These are used in AN/VRC-16 or 17 or 18.
There is the MT-298 mount, which accomodates
Two RT-66 or 67 or 68, plus
Two PP-109 or 112, plus
C-435
These are used in AN/VRQ-1 or 2 or 3.
Summary:
The MT-298, 299, and 327 do not accomodate the AM-65, and thus do not
accomodate an RT-70.
The MT-297 and 300 do accomodate the AM-65, and thus the RT-70.
So if you are looking for a mount for both an RT-66/67/68 and RT-70
there's only one option...the MT-297.
William Perry Company (702 Beechwood Rd, Louisville, KY 40207,
502-893-8724) currently has very good condition MT-300 mounts for well
below $50, IIRC. That's a great deal. Fair Radio sells them in poor
condition at much higher cost. Phone is the only real way to deal with
Col. Perry...forget the internet! You could ask him about the MT-297
as well.
Are you actually going to try and use a system with the RT-66 in it?
There's no part of the spectrum where the 20.0 to 27.9 MHz wide-band
RT-66 is legal.
Good luck. The full-house AN/GRC-3 or 5 or 7 is a 250-pound thing of
beauty that was world-class state of the art when introduced more than
60 years ago. It's a shame they don't get much interest from military
radio fans. There's a nice web site for these sets at:
