Actually Bob, I'm not sure what case you are resting.  That you can make neat stuff out of junk is beyond question.  You should see the bird feeder I built last week out of scrap wood scrounged from a construction project down the street.  But the ARB is not junk. It is a darn good receiver, especially if you are into BCB and/or low frequency beacon dx-ing.  Mike W6MAB
