Those of you who've worked with BC-659:
Did you solid-state the vibrator in the suppy? 
(I have PE-120).
Have you tried providing 12 VDC on that buss
and 12 VAC to the input of the vibrator transformer?
Have any trouble with the C5-R3 transformer de-spiker?
Can you align the set without the external alignment jig?
Have you attempted to limit the deviation to 5 KC?

In short- All you 659 folks, please post your experiances.
