And I can verify the reports of radio gear being dumped because I
heard a couple guys from Harlingen discussing it on the air years ago,
in great detail.

But last I knew, the CAF had several different groups or 'wings' in
different areas. I'd bet they aren't all the same,
personality-or-otherwise.

No one would begrudge you the right to feel as you do from past
experience, Dave. I've been known to hold a grudge myself. It just
seems the better approach moving forward would be to seek out the
newer groups and/or members with more open minds and better attitudes.
Not unlike dealing with the ARRL. Focusing on the ones who don't care
or the hacked up radios serves no useful purpose, and runs the risk of
alienating new blood who would see it as just another cranky old fart
who resents the world. I base this on my own previous attitudes, and
the 'more with honey than vinegar' approach. The folks on these lists
made their minds up long ago.
