This would be the receiver for an AN/ARN-59 which is the military
esignation for the Type 21 ADF.  It's one of the pieces of the COTS
quipment the military purchased from ARC along with the Type 12 stuff.
long with things like the T-25 and the other Series 40 pieces, this could
e considered 2nd generation postwar equipment since, among other
ifferences, it uses more submini tubes instead of minis and loctals.
