I agree about the mods. They don't really look like anything Collins would
have done.
The dataplate on top of the cabinet smacks of something a postwar civilian
collector or small museum might have made. Especially if he or they weren't
vets. It just has an immature gee-whiz ring to it. Neither the Navy nor,
I'm sure, Collins Radio would have ever put a plate worded like that onto
anything they bought or built.
The input voltages listed on the plate are not those used in the 18M. They
are the DC primary or input voltages of the four types of power supplies
available for the TCH.
The manual that I have is Navy, but an un-numbered preliminary. Like those
thin preliminary manuals done for the TCS-12, 13 and 14. Front cover and
title page are virtually identical except for nomenclature and date.
