Thanks for posting these links. The first one said something at the end 
too mildly. The expulsion of women from the work force after the war was 
not gentle, the gal smiling in her apron in the kitchen was pure 
propaganda. I have no doubt a lot of the bad feeling toward amatuer 
radio from female partners originated from them being thrown out of the 
work force. Likewise, for all the WWII radios with all the name tags 
removed and painted unusual colors.  I'm sure many of you know or have 
met a woman who worked in the factories, did any of them work on radios 
?   I was raised by one,  and her name IS Rose!
