Back in the days when I did such, I found the Kings connectors a much better choice. Easier to install and more reliable. You mentioned crimp. Unless you intend to run production quantities, in the thousands, don't. Poor reliabbility will eat your lunch, and if warranties are involved, well, Hmmmm.
I don't have one at hand, but I can look up the part number if you need it.

Hello folks. Anybody here work with RG174? I need to put some BNC plugs on some RG174, and I'm interested in folks' experiences with what plugs are good and what die size they've used for them.
I'm thinking about ordering some Amphenol 31-315-RFX plugs. Comments?
