You are so full of shit Hue!!!
Don't blame Joe, This is Dennis on his machine.
The TCS was the primary radio set for every small boy under 60 ft during
WW-2 when CW was THE only allowed method of communications. & the ONLY
method of encryption.

I have talked to dozens of WW-2 operators, both Army & Navy, that all stated
the same thing. The TCS had the most beautiful CW tone on the air.

Dennis,

Sent with your usual tact and modesty.
The defined role, per Navy, and I'm sure you have seen the RM manual too, is
"voice communications, short range,
for (primarily) small craft".
I have used TCS extensively on CW, so no need to lecture me on its tone.
I don't see a lot of Navy memoirs detailing CW operations with the TCS.
So I am asking, you tell me where it was used on CW, where and when would be
a typical occasion.
Ocean going ships, even ocean going tugs, did they use the TCS CW to
contact shoreside? Did they
use CW for intervessel short range communications? Other than possibly ocean
going tugs and minesweepers,
I offhand cannot think of ocean going vessels having only TCS for long range
communications.
CW "was the only allowed method of communications", only method of
encryption? ( Which discounts
"codetalkers", and simplistly discounts RTTY. )

You tell me!
with warm regards, Hue

Roger, you could probably count on your two hands' fingers the number of
times TCS's were
ever used for CW.
But - they had to provide it, "just in case".
