If this is the discussion I think it is, the delay tube was to allow the
filaments to heat up. The HV pimaries were driven directly from the delay
tube and its contacts kept failing. I think Bob is adding a contactor in
the delay tube circuit.
I don't think the HV is controlled by the PTT, but I could be wrong. Doing
that w3ould require an additional, low power relay.
