You are right. It is despicable. And Sad. We did not win Europe alone. We
had a lot of help, especially from Russia. That is a fact. Russia was no
angel but we would have had a terrible time without them
But we did handle Japan for the most part. No aspirations on the other
allies intended. And after we won it we turned Japan into a modern
progressive country and a true friend. There was no "getting even" or
retaliation. We just moved on. After we won it.
The worst picture I saw (and I am 60 so I have seen a lot) was not in
Vietnam it was on CNN when we "conquered" Iraq. Marines had hoisted a US
flag onto a stature of Saddam Hussein. They were immediately ordered to
remove it. I believe they were disciplined.
As far as I can see, we won Iraq. It belongs to us. And the oil. I wonder if
we had left the US flag up if things would have been different. Pardon my
frustration and apologies for being off topic.
Why can't we just win one ? , just for once. Unconditional surrender.
One of these days someone will quite taking us seriously and try and test
us big time. Either we will lose or we will have to kill countless people
just because we didn't stop this stuff when it was small.
Pardon my frustration and apologies for being off topic.
