Well.... Somewhere in this chaos are photos of SCR-274N installed
in a jeep. Shouldn't surprise anyone.
"We need a way to talk to the pilots from the jeep on the flight line.
See that wrecked B-25 that overshot the runway?...."

If I ever again get an office, I'll be able to get my hands on
these docs like I used to. They have been scattered everywhere
from house to storage to barn for five years now :(
I swear I'm going to build one if I can ever get enough lumber.
Anyways- somewhere here is a set of paperwork addressed
to Air-Sea rescue stations that were equipped
with large motor launches.
They were issued SCR-287 and SCR-274N, just like aircraft,
and installed them for use in the launches. I'll make an attempt
to find it and scan you a copy. It's pretty cool.
And not surprising, since the chains of Rescue stations
along bomber routes guarded a 4 MC freq.
That document is probably buried right next to the other one ;-).
Oh.... and they make no mention whatever of a VHF set.
