Wright-Patterson's WWII "archives" and warehouses of equipment-
at least, several large warehouses adjacent to the base and full of
what you'd expect from their "archives"-  were disposed-of
about ten years ago- I know one of the men who was in on it.  The 
warehouses
were in disrepair, leaking and had pests.  They were all but 
abandoned.
Most of the documentation was spoiled and went to the dump.
Many very interesting pieces came out of there.
What equipment and docs that were saved have been scattered to the 
winds.
