Were I you, I would surely measure the input impedance of your ST-6 (and cable) to see if it is too low. OTOH, if you do not exceed the rated output power for the receiver for the sum of the loads (my Collins manuals aren't handy), then you should not do any damage.

Is there any reason you can't hook up to the 600 ohm output and 3.2 ohm output at the same time. I want a speaker on the 3.2 ohm output and to runa cable from the 600 ohm output at the same time to an ST-6 for RTTY reception. I did notice that there was a reduction in audio from the 3.2 ohm connection when i hooked the ST-6 to the 600 ohm terminals. Is that right or should i not use them both at the same time/
