The transmitter math looks OK.  The transmitter
operates on the 18th harmonic of the crystal.
I don't have the book, but if we ASSUME the same
harmonic for the receiver, and I know the receiver
intermediate Frequency is 12 MHz, the receive
crystal should be 7.9205 MHz.  The figures he gives,
8.38647 MHz, is OK if we use the 17th Harmonic.
Or, if we run the 8.38647 crystal on the 18th harmonic,
as I think it normally does, the receiver will operate
on 138.9 MHz.   Either he made a small math mistake,
or he's operating crossband on Tx/Rx.
