Good Evening All,
I have a KWN-2A on the bench for some work. This radio was given
to me along with two of 516F power supplies, an 312B-5 Remote VFO / Phone
patch / Wattmeter, and a 30L1 amp. I have rebuilt one of the power
supplies, replace all the caps, upgraded the tube sockets with ceramic
types, and install a primary power relay. After doing the needed cleaning
of controls and the relays the transceiver works O.K. The two issues I am
having are. No ALC being indicated on the meter. And the other is low RF
output, but only in the 3.8 to 4.0 Mhz range. Running the output into a
dummy load on all other frequencies the output is to what I would expect
from a pair of 6146's. I am going to dive into the manual over the
weekend, but has anyone had or seen these problems. And if so what are
the likely areas of fault. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
