Essentially a Hallicrafters HT-12. Intended for use on harbor and
coastal vessels as well as land stations. Handset usually mounted on
the side of the cabinet rather than on the front as seen in the
picture. Four channel xtal controlled transmitter. Receiver could be
either crystal controlled or continuously tuned manually (see crystal/
manual switch on the front panel). Individual transmit/receive
crystal pairs mounted in a single large holder similar the the ones
used in the TCS. Nice little 160M rig.
The BC-669 followed with an extended frequency range but much larger,
heavier and more complex.
