Hello Ben, George and All;


  I found the "orignal" conversion article in April 1958 CQ. It was done up in
the Surplus column by Ken Grayson, W2HDM.

 Good news: It does not call for a sharp hacksaw.

 Bad news: It does suggest use of a blow tourch or big soldering iron to get
into the sealed case. Then it suggests drilling holes in the case to allow for
adjustments.
