[Milsurplus] RE Moto R220

I recently picked up (all 93 lbs) a Motorola R-220 receiver.  Any fans  or 
experts in the group to either encourage or discourage me in putting any 
time  in to  the beast.  It's complete, lights up, hisses in the audio  channel 
and I found one weak tone on one of the bands.  Otherwise nothing  with a 
simple wire poked in the antenna terminal.  I downloaded a manual on  the 
thing, but so far I've not had the time to actually print the thing  out.  The 
first question is how much trouble am I in for when I open up  the  RF 
compartment?
