The GF series of transmitters, the TX component of what is
commonly called "GF/RU," have a long and excellent service history
with the Navy and Marine Corps. They do not get the respect
they richly deserve. Originally designed by Aircraft Radio Corp.
and produced from 1932 until 1941, they saw service in many of
the early WWII naval battles, including Midway (yes I have a photo),
and were installed in just about anything you can imagine.
Besides aircraft they are documented in landing craft,
trucks and even half-tracks.
Give me until this evening to break-out the books and I'll post
a diagram and some hook-up info tonight or tomorrow.
