The ballast tube is used as a currant regulater. It consists of an iron
filament
with an atmosphere of hydrogen. You put the 2B14.s filament in series
with the load you are trying to regulate the currant comsuption with.
Going by memory which is very faulty, the first number, divided by 10 is
the currant, so 2 means 0.2 amps. The second number, not the B, is the
so called starting voltage. This tube starts regulating with a voltage drop
of
14 volts. Are you sure the letter is B ?
Hopefully, someone with better memory will provide the correct answer.
