They look a lot like, may be, National RCQ, CAA Model, made by National
Radio, modified by National Electrical Machine Shops, Silver Springs, MD,
for the Dept of Commerce, they have a crystal control feature, and C.O.N.S,
squelch.

Think was a variant of the NC-100 family.

Got one in back room, S/N 81, made/modified under Contract CCA 26227,
2-5-48. Mine is 200-400Khz and 1.3-30Mhz. Any help?

Subject: [Milsurplus] Question about Aeronautical Radios

I was reading this artice about the next generation of air traffic control:

http://www.txchnologist.com/volumes/aviation/nextgen-will-change-air-travel-
why-the-delay

It contains a picture of the control tower in LaGuardiaAirport in 1943.

I recognize the Hammarlund Super-Pro receiver in the rack. Does anyone
recognize the other three sets? They look like National equipment.

Thanks,

Mike N2MS
