Actually, accepting a check or Money Order is not officially against eBay 
policy.  You just can't say in an ad that you will do so.

You also do not have to have a PayPal account in order to sell on eBay.  
However, you must have some other way to accept electronic payments, which 
basically means having a merchant account to accept credit cards.  We have 
both, and accept checks and MO's once in a while.  But I know a couple of 
sellers who only have a merchant account.
