[Milsurplus] GRC-9 general question

I wonder what the usual price range for a "hamfest GRC-9" might be.
Yes, I know that's hard to nail down, maybe.
Only one I'd seen was (I think....)  $400 with the gov't AC supply 
(is that PE-327 ? flying by memory...)   Seemed "retail" to bystanders
but buyer was happy with condition and number of articles it included.

Say, also: I have some GRC-9s with red spray paint sloppily dashed
across the cabinets. Obviously to mark them. Does that mean DEF or
EXCESS-dispose, do you think? I may have bought them from Murphy
