Richard -
Sorry for the delay in answering your queston
"My burning question is; how did you get new labels on the new wrinkle
paint? "

The hard way.

Background: A problem no evident at the time is the Zinc Chromate primer
I used was a bit old and went on thicker than I thought. When the black
wrinkle paint was applied it raised up above the letters. This was the
first time I have used authentic Zinc Chromate primer. I learned my
lesson.

I took 2000 grit wet sand paper and super glued to a wooden stir sticks
and trimmed back the paper to the edge of the stick. The stick was
about the width of the letters. I placed the sand paper on the ends of
the stir sticks to match 1/2 of each labels width, so about 20 sticks
with various lengths of sand paper ends. I then carefully sanded the
paint off to expose the raised labels.

I now know I could have done a better job, Thinner Primer, tighter or
finer wrinkle pattern == less sanding and a better look.
The paint it a little flat around the labels, not shown in great detail
on the picture.
