[Milsurplus] MX-2012/U sub-miniature tube test adapter

I wondered if he was referring to where the modules plug in or if it was something else he was referencing?
 
Anyway, a handy item to have on the workbench if you're blessed or cursed (matter of opinion) by owning one of the SRR-11,12,13 receivers.
 
I own 2 of the SRR-13s and while they're fascinating sets, I'm not too proud of them. I ask an old retired Navy Chief why so few of these sets seemed to show up surplus, his answer was "local disposition" and then explained that meant heaved overboard.

Perhaps someone told him it was for testing tubes, but not that it was an adaptor and required a regular tube tester to use.  And he assumed it was missing something.  It's made to plug into a TV-3(*)/U.  The empty boxes are where you plug in the modules to test the tubes in them.
