[Milsurplus] Radium

Hi All,

I think it was from this group that I had a contact from a health physicist or the like when looking into radiation from the Navy's US/AM Nancy receiver. It is really hot in both penetrating and non-penetrating radiation. Apparently there are many isotopes of Radium and not all are simply alpha radiators. The radioactive source excited a phosphor which converted infrared radiation to visible.

I'm looking for help with documenting exposure for the VA for a WWII vet who wore one of these things. Someone within a reasonable driving range of central NJ who could take a calibrated reading and document it.

Thanks, Rob
