[Milsurplus] Harris RF-350 / RT-1446 Questions

The base transceiver runs on that nominal 13.8 volts as you read. I ran
mine on a bank of 12 volt batteries for years (plus a small trickle
charger). This also made the unit quieter as the fans were in the power
supply part. If you are going to run RTTY or other high duty cycle uses
you should direct a small fan on the rear heat sink.

The 5 and 15 volt supplies are created by a relatively small DC-DC power
supply in the transceiver so as long as your unit is complete you are
fine. I have actually found the electrolytics to eventually go bad in
that converter so if you run into problems you should replace them.
They are 105C Spragues which are still available (maybe NOS only, not
sure if they are still manufactured).

If you don't have them, I have the manuals on my site:

There are a few weak spots but overall this is a great transceiver.
