I don't know about an RCAF model, but the AVT-12 I know is 
a 1930s RCA aircraft transmitter.  2 or 4 channel xtal osc.
using an 837 driving and 803 power amplifier.
It has an internal surpressor-grid modulator using a type 43.  
Power is supplied by an external dyanmotor
providing 500 and 1700 volts.  Primary power is 12 volts.
Originaly used an external control head.
Diagrams available if you need it.
