[Milsurplus] While you're at Dayton ... :-)

If you happen to see a T-19/ARC-5 and a dual position AN/ARC-5 Tx
rack, I certainly could use them. I also need an RE-2 & mount, a MD-7
mount and a junk MD-7 that still has the relays & input choke. One of
the systems I want to set up is from the 1952 edition of one of the
Type 12 manuals and is a mix of Type 12 and AN/ARC-5 equipment. That
is the HF Tx that goes with it and is racked with a T-23/ARC-5 which I
already have. I also have the R-26, single position Rx rack & mount,
all the Type 12 equipment and the A.R.C. C-40 control box to go with
this all.
Also, one each ARA 46105 & 46106 receiver, ARA 3 position & ATA 2
position racks, ARA/ATA control boxes and all the requisite mounts,
and enough RU/GF equipment (with the coil sets covering 80 & 40m)
except the Tx to build up a complete RU-16/GF-11 installation are also
good. I have the 52208 and 52211 ATA transmitters and the 50083
modulator & mount for the ARA/ATA system and a GF-11 Tx for the RU/GF
system. Unfortunately, that's all I have.
None of this has to be pristine - in fact, it can be downright ugly -
just restorable to more or less original cosmetic and electrical
condition for operating set ups to be used "in the public eye." (The
GF/RU and ARA/ATA will be mounted side by side.) I can straighten
bent metal, fill holes, and do a lot of other magic so there won't be
any real problems in restoring the pieces.
Probably some "junker" SCR-A*-183/-283 and GF/RU equipment might be
cool as well. Dave raised an interesting point about transmitter tube
substitutions which got me thinking about the rest of the Model D
equipment.
Among the things stolen from me last year were the complete RF train
from a Viking (I or II, I don't recall), a DX-100 VFO and the PTO from
a Collins 32V Tx. Of them, the Viking RF train was the worst loss,
especially with its rather wide tuning range and that cool PA plate
tuning setup. Eventually, I'd like to replace it along with a VFO
that will let me take advantage of the full tuning capabilities which
the DX-100 VFO didn't. The Collins PTO was supposed to go into a rig
that used a National MB-150 in the PA with the usual assortment of
multipliers in between for an 80-10m rig. A VFO to handle this plus,
if one happens to find one, a National MB-40 would be most welcome.
Downside: I won't have money until 1 June. Do I figure anyone will
pick anything up for me? Not really, but it can't hurt to ask anyway.
Maybe someone will surprise me.
Best regards ... and have fun!
